We asked you to pay attention to servers who went above and beyond the call of duty to make your KRLD Restaurant Week memorable. Last week, Amber Zuniga and Johan Mand of Charlie Palmer shared the honor as Best Servers of KRLD Restaurant Week Number One.
The winner for week number two is Brandon Smoot from Dish. (Last week Dish server Ira Steck was a runner-up.) Obviously Dish is providing great service during the hectic time of Restaurant Week. Way to go Brandon! Your public has spoken.
Below you will find other servers who captured your attention during the second KRLD Restaurant Week. Thanks to all who took the time to nominate your server. And thanks to the many servers who work hard to represent the Dallas restaurant business. We appreciate you both. Go. Eat. Nominate. Congrats to the winners of last week’s contest. Now, let’s get busy and vote for the server who will take honors next Monday. If you have a server who goes above and beyond the call of RW duty, take a picture and get their name. E-mail details to me (firstname.lastname@example.org)1 Comment »

The next few weeks are going to be rough—Restaurant Week sucks the life out of restaurant news. I promise not to make every SideDish post about RW, but an interesting conversation about tipping servers during RW erupted under a post I put up on Friday. It gave me an idea.
If you are one of the lucky folks flitting around town and enjoying RW, I ask you to get the complete name (and a picture) of a server who performed above the call of duty. E-mail details of your experience to me (email@example.com. Please put Best Server in subject line.). At the end of every week, SideDish will recognize said server. We’ll even find some prizes for them. Okay, stay alert. Go.3 Comments »
Yes folks, it is that time of year again—KRLD Restaurant Week. The madness begins tonight with preview dinners and will continue through September 5. If you have plans to dine, keep good notes—every morning SideDish will provide a place for you to post your reviews. If you take a nice photo, e-mail them to me and I will do my best to get them posted as well. Remember to tip your server like it’s not Restaurant Week. On your mark, get set…16 Comments »
