If you are still in need of a gift for Mom here are some fun ideas. In addition to a nice brunch or dinner out, toasting her with any of the below are sure to please your mom on her day. Though a few are available online only, having it arrive a few days late is worth it as each item below are as special as she is. I talked about a few of these this morning on D: The Broadcast. A few selections below were sent for editorial consideration.
When I think California Chardonnay Jordan easily comes to mind as one of the best, and always rich, layered, classic. From their estate fruit grown in Sonoma County, filled with green apple, tropical fruit and toasted cream. Always memorable and consistently delicious, any Chardonnay loving mom will be pleased with this bottle from Jordan, and a great deal at Spec’s for $27.88 a bottle. Carol spent many hours compiling a list of restaurants that offered Mother’s Day specials. I passed a few of them yesterday and noticed some huge crowds on patios and valet parking stands. I take it a few (a lot!) of you took your mother(s) out for a meal. We’d like to hear about your experience.
When I asked my mother if she’d like me to make a brunch reservation for Mother’s Day, she waved me off and told me not to bother. (She’s a simple woman, really.) This puts me in a bit of a sticky situation. My mom is hard to shop for, so this comprehensive list that ShopTalk editor Raya Ramsey created does me no good, either. I guess this means I’m making brunch instead. Here are some recipes that I’ve been mulling over.
It’s Monday. There are seven days left until Mother’s Day - the day you are expected to be a good son or daughter who takes mom out for a lovely brunch. Have you made a reservation yet?
If not, go to our list of 37+ restaurants with menus, prices, and phone numbers.

Sorry to harp on you like your mother would, but Mother’s Day is only ten days away. Have you made reservations yet? Have you ordered her a new blender off Amazon? You still have time for standard shipping, but you’re cutting it pretty close.
In any case, I’ve tried to make this Mother’s Day reeeeally easy for you. Just take a look at this convenient list of Mother’s Day restaurants, pick up a phone, and dial. It’s that simple.
Mother’s Day (May 13) is only two weeks away, which means you should’ve already booked your reservation already. If you’re a slowpoke and you haven’t, well, maybe you should take a look at our list. It’s got everything you need to make the right choice. Don’t let yo momma down, boys and girls.
There are very few holidays more important than Mother’s Day. That’s because:
1) It took a long time for your mom to raise you. (For some of you, it took longer than 18 years…)
2) Yo momma had to put up with that Backstreet Boys cd played on repeat, the pink hair dye, the girlfriend who sucked up all the air in the room, and other horrible youthful decisions you want to forget.
To thank her for staying your mom throughout these years, take that nice lady out to brunch. I’ve compiled a list of restaurants right here. All you have to do is pick up the phone and call – simple as that. I’ll keep updating as more restaurants send in their menus, so keep checking back.
Jump for the complete listing.

Okay @DSideDish TwEATers, are you lining up for the parade. Tweet details of food and drink, or any other details, to @DSideDish and we will retweet. Have fun.
1 Comment »The love for wine and spirits runs in my family, which means that I can give my mom a great bottle of wine, fun gadget or excellent bottle of Grey Goose for a Mother’s Day gift and she will be happy, especially because we will often then share that bottle of wine or mix up a martini together…and that special time is really what it is all about. If you are still in search of a perfect Mother’s Day gift and know that something in the liquid form will satisfy, consider one of these options. Some have been sent for editorial consideration.
For the wine lover:
The Moet and Chandon Brut Rose Imperial NV is always a great go to bubbly with a burst of great strawberry, raspberry layered with a hint of rose water. Elegant and crisp with thousands of tiny bubbles. Priced at about $60 a bottle and available at most Goody-Goody locations (I saw it at the Greenville store last week.) I am blessed to have a wonderful, strong, dynamic mother who always supported every decision I made and direction I took (even when they were a little less conventional). Thank you mom.
I am proud to be the proud mama of a perfect little Jack Russell/Shitzu named Yoda…yes…Yoda. Yoda man is a huge fan of icy cold Ozarka, so that is what he’ll be drinking this weekend, and he loves to see his mama toast a tasty glass of wine on a special day.
Wine and cocktail options seem endless in celebration of Mother’s Day, so here are a few options to try as you raise a glass (or have one raised to you) in honor of your special day.
Some of these have been sent for editorial consideration, some I just love.
In honor of my own mother, a perfect Cosmo, slightly updated. Instead of plain cranberry try it with just a splash of pomegranate juice (we love good antioxidants with vodka), a splash of soda, squeeze of lime and Cranberi Stoli. Continue reading "What I’m Drinking Now: Mama’s Day"

Have you seen Sarah’s story about the top picks for Mother’s Day brunch? It’s a streamlined version–a cheat sheet, if you will–of Nancy’s SideDish post about where to wine and dine your mom on the big day. Sarah’s taken over MD duties, so she’ll add to the story as the news rolls in. Personally, I’ve been dreaming about that eggs Benny from Jasper’s all day …
