It’s obvious this city has a place in its heart for three things in particular: food, local artisans and celebrating the two together. With at least two festivals a week there’s always a chance to get involved, learn a thing or two, meet the faces behind our favorite products, shuffle our feet to some tunes, party and most importantly, binge eat for three days straight. Well, this year there’s a new festival in town and it’s a Chipotle addict’s heaven. On Saturday, October 18 at Lake Carolyn in Irving from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Chipotle will host its Cultivate Festival. Here are some things you should know before you go.

Chef Stefano Secchi—a Southern Methodist University and Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park graduate, youngest chef ever invited to cook at The James Beard House, and current consulting chef for America Airlines—has talent that thrives beyond the kitchen. Two plus years ago, he traveled to the Sardinia homeland of his father to make a movie inspired by stories told by his dad and uncle. Feast on This: Amon Carter Museum’s New ‘Art and Appetite’ Exhibit

The ‘Art and Appetite’ exhibit at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, organized by the Art Institute of Chicago, takes you on an appetite adventure through 63 paintings and one sculpture of American culture and cuisine. This exhibit is a celebration and critique of the American diet from the 18th to 20th centuries. Many renowned artists (such as Edward Hopper, Norman Rockwell, and Andy Warhol) are on display, featuring some of their most iconic works. I can tell you, first-hand: viewing the exhibit on an empty stomach is not a good idea, and it will only leave you wanting more. More art, more food.

Hypnotic Donut Dash’s 5K and Chubby Bunny Contest is Happening This Saturday

Hypnotic Donuts is weird, I’ll give you that. This Saturday, January 25, the funky donut shop is encouraging people to eat donuts and then run in their 5K run. Consumption is not absolutely necessary, but it’s definitely part of the fun. (Throwing up is not.) Three donut hole stations will be placed along the route, helping runners to stay in perfect donut shape along the way. There’s a chubby bunny contest starting at 9:30 a.m., so if you’ve got the stretchy cheeks to enter, please do so. We welcome your videos.
