With end of summer and start of fall, we can finally stop worrying about that bikini body and really indulge in all the food Dallas has to offer. You should probably intermix your drinking and burger loading with a couple celery sticks and pieces of broccoli. Let’s keep it a little healthy folks.

The best part and (let’s be real) only appealing part of a fortune cookie is that message on the inside once you get past the inedible exterior. Wouldn’t it be great to get that same message of encouragement, but wrapped around something like a cupcake? Well six college students took the idea of enjoying a simple baked good and turning it into a social movement. CauseCakes launches their “sweet” (couldn’t help the pun) initiative at the Original Cupcakery in Uptown at 5 PM. Grab a CauseCake and “Unwrap The Movement” with these guys.
The Bourbon Trail: like history class, but way more fun and with shots. Discover the history of whiskey making in America and uncover bourbon myths, as you taste a lengthy selection of labels like Southshot, Jim Beam and Makers Mark at Total Wine & More. The event runs from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and tickets are $20. Find out more and get your spot here.
Saturday September 6th
It’s that time of year again. Time to rally the troops, assign beer runners, prepare game-viewing menus and color coordinate dishware to our team’s jerseys. The rise of football season means tailgate parties are back and we all must be prepared. That’s why The Second Floor by Scott Gottlich will offer a Tailgate party from 1 to 3 PM to get your culinary game mentality. Mixologist Seth Brammer will demonstrate flavorful beer cocktails and summer martinis in addition to bites like buffalo mac and cheesy dip. The $48.25 advanced payment includes selected non-alcoholic drinks, tax and gratuity.
Did you know you could actually save a life while enjoying an ice cold beer with your friends over some grub this weekend?
