FINAL MENU _Page_1This weekend, it looks like Dallas will enjoy some indulgent brunch, stuff their faces courtesy of some of our favorite stops and double fist with a glass of wine or pint of beer. Then again, that happens every weekend. Cheers to a city that likes consistency and takes celebrating the weekend very seriously.

Friday, August 8th

Asador concludes their Summer Harvest Dinner Series tonight at 6:30 pm with dishes like Roasted Tenderloin and Antelope Short Ribs paired with wine, beer or cocktails. If you didn’t purchase all three dinners at the start, don’t fret because you can still get a seat for $60 by calling 214-267-4815.

Free wine? That’s music to my ears. Head to Cork from 6 to 8 pm for a free wine tasting from Dunstan Wines and meet the Durrell Vineyard Ambassador with the winery, Jim Kuhner. Sip on a selection of Dunstan Rosé, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir in addition to PIP Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Find your favorite and take it home for another night or keep the shenanigans going.

Swiss Pastry Shop likes to keep hitting us with innovative burger concoctions and I thank them for that. Starting today you can get a goat burger special dubbed the “hamburguesa de chivo.” Windy Hills Farms goat, mole poblano, cojita cheese and pickled red onion, get at me.

Saturday August 9th

So & So’s will launch a new brunch starting today, meaning you can start early and settle down for the long haul through the night. From 11 am to 4 pm you can get things like strongbow bacon gravy and honey butter grits, Chilaquiles with IPA braised pork, peach rosemary jalapeno salsa, a variety of pizzas and of course a wide range of alcohol selections.

Looking to get to know your local farmers? Join in on Dallas Bites’ Food Tour of Dallas’ Best Farmers Markets. From 8 am to 11:45 am you will explore some of the area’s most interesting and varied farmers markets including Eden’s Organic Garden Center, CSA Farms, Grand Prairie Farmers Market and Coppell Farmers Market. Guests will sample many items not offered to the public for the price of $35.

Sunday August 10th

hobWhat if you didn’t have to wait until after you sing a little praise to enjoy your Sunday brunch? Well House of Blues will host a Gospel Brunch service at 11 am and 1:30 pm with local talent performing both traditional and contemporary Gospel songs selected by Kirk Franklin. Pile your plate high with eats from a large buffet selection and feed your stomach as well as soul with this experience.

Monday August 11th

Chef Gorji will team up with Whole Foods Market in Addison for a dinner at Canary by Gorji at 6:30 pm. For $38 plus tax and gratuity you can nibble on heirloom tomatoes, wild Pacific salmon and wild boar. Prepayment is required and you can do so by calling 972-503-7080 to reserve a seat.

Slices from Greenville Avenue Pizza Company are already hard to resist, but when they team up with a local charity I just can’t say no. In their second annual Slices for Supplies, GAPCo asks customers to bring in one school supply item in exchange for a slice of their cheese pizza, plus one topping. In addition, they will collect donations through the night to purchase supplies that teachers and students are in need of at the beginning of the second semester of school. All supplies and donations will go directly to the teachers at DISD school, Ignacio Zaragoza Elementary. Stuff your face and do a good deed from 6 pm to 8 pm.
