Meaders and Robert Orazow, owners of Empire Baking Company, have been making bread since 1992, but they haven’t lost their sense of adventure. They’ve just debuted a naturally leavened loaf of bread made with house ground whole Wheat Montana wheat berries and coated with sesame seeds. It’s taken them six months to workshop the recipe. This bread ferments for 24 hours, the longest of any bread made by Empire. The result is a wonderfully rich, flavorful product.
