This afternoon, it announced that Mayor Mike Rawlings cut the ribbon at the opening of Cox Farms Market Store, which is actually located in the building right across from Ten.

DALLAS, April 24, 2014 - The first tenant at Sylvan | Thirty, the $50-million, seven-acre mixed-use development in West Dallas, has opened. Cox Farms Market, a local family-owned organic and farm fresh grocery store, is the development’s anchor tenant. Mayor Rawlings, several City Council members, presidents of West Dallas & Oak Cliff Chambers of Commerce and other local dignitaries were on hand to cut the ribbon and celebrate the the Duncanville-based grocer’s opening day. Sylvan | Thirty is expected to serve as a hub for the West Dallas and North Oak Cliff communities with community events, music and other planned activities.

Cox Farms Market occupies an 8,000-square foot market space, where it sells farm fresh produce, natural, organic and whole foods, nutritional items and body care products. This is the second location for the third-generation, Texas family-owned grocer. Their first store, located on S. Main Street in Duncanville, has been in business for 23 years.

“We’re excited to earn the same loyal customer base in Oak Cliff and West Dallas that we’ve experienced for twenty-plus years in Duncanville. We’re hopeful that our friendly staff – many hired directly from the surrounding area – and our dedication to organic and environmentally-friendly products, as well as local family heritage and our philosophy of giving back to our neighbors, will make us a successful addition to the community,” said Cameron Cox, third-generation operator of Cox Farms Market.

Other announced tenants at the 6.34-acre development include Chef Teiichi Sakurai’s ramen shop “Ten,” Sync Yoga and CrossFit Deep, with other tenant annoucements coming soon.
