James Beard might have shunned us this year, but Food & Wine sure didn’t. Every year, the magazine does a “Best New Chef” competition. Matt McCallister of FT33 took the winning crown and the most votes last year.
This is pretty huge, given how 3 out of the 10 chefs in the Southwest category are from our city. Can they beat big names like Paul Qui and Justin Yu? Let’s vote so.
