Making Dallas Even Better

  • Michael Merriman

    Casa Rubia at Trinity Groves.
Nice choice of classic appetizers, had the Almonds, olives, and anchovies. All were perfectly done. On the entre side had the quail, which was juicy and meaty, the scallops, and my favorite, the mushrooms, which had a smoky sous-vide egg in the middle. Really good. Extensive Spanish wine list, but the king of the party was the Sherry list. I tried as many as I could, prolly 8 or 9, and enjoyed them all, from fino and amontillado to oloroso. It was our first time to Trinity Groves and it is restaurant heaven. Nice view of downtown at night, too. Olé!

We ate at CBD Provisions and everything that everybody had was amazing. From start to finish, they hit it out of the park. I finished my meal with the banana trifle and oh my God was it good. Also not to be missed, the little goat pie. Service was also attentive and well paced. Will definitely return.

Went to Noodle House based on Carol Shish’s review. Superb. I had the wonton soup with multiple large wontons in a delicate dough and a clear, hearty stock. The Leek Potstickers (with pork as my veggie table mate found :-0) were the best I have ever had. Tasty filling, excellent sear on the bottom. I will be back!
