We tried the new Genaro’s on Monday while waiting for our power to come back on. Service was attentive, and our waiter made excellent recommendations. The scallop appetizer was large enough to be my entree. It featured 3 large, perfectly seared scallops over couscous with greens, and a little bacon. We started with the lamb empanadas–they’re small, but light and flavorful. I can’t tell you anything about my husband’s beef enchiladas–other than the fact they were gone before I could try a bite. A welcome addition to the Mockingbird/Abrams intersection.

We went to Mash’d in Frisco last week and I have since been back three times- drinks with friends, taking a relative for dinner and out again with hubby. Super cool layout and theme(MOONSHINE!) amazing drinks and delicious food. These are the same owners of Tru Fire Grill. Also took aforementioned relative to Wolfgang Puck. It was somewhat mediocre, food was lackluster and expensive. The staff was so nice though. We were still hungry so I took her to Snuffers in Uptown. Great food and very nice bartender.

Had an enjoyable dinner at Casa Rubia last night at Trinity Groves. Nice Wine list and authentic Spanish Tapas. Thought the Artichoke and Cod were fine- but LOVED the Rabbit dish. Such a fun area – will definitely make it across the bridge again.

On a quick trip to Las Vegas this weekend we went to B&B Ristorante at the Venetian. This is Mario Batali’s rustic Italian place. Simply incredible food and service. The best Grilled Octopus we have ever had, along with a beautifully executed Bone Marrow Ravioli. Excellent wine pairings with all of our dishes. The service I can only describe as stellar. Prompt, courteous, right there when you need them, disappear when you don’t. I know it’s not local but anyone that is heading to LV should put this restaurant at the top of their to-do list.
