Evening with THE HOBBIT – Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013

Alamo launches so many Hobbity things on Thursday, December 12 in preparation for opening weekend of THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, it will turn you into a wooly-footed slowcoach! So get your costumes ready, Ringers, and prepare to go on a journey to Middle Earth at Alamo Drafthouse – Richardson. THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG opens at midnight Friday, December 13, 2013.

“Middle Earth is a long journey away, but we’re bringing it closer to LORD OF THE RINGS fans this December at Alamo Drafthouse Richardson. Eat the Hobbit meals, hear Howard Shore’s score live, come in costume and join us on an unexpected journey for the desolation of Smaug with THE HOBBIT Double Feature, and more!” said James Wallace, Creative Manager.

Evening with THE HOBBIT – Thursday, Dec. 12 starting at 7 pm:

— A quartet from the Richardson Symphony Orchestra in lobby playing score selections from both the LORD OF THE RINGS and THE HOBBIT series on Thursday, December 12th from 7-10 pm before the midnight showings of THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG.

— A special LORD OF THE RINGS-themed menu specials featuring food and drink from the 7 Hobbit meals!

HOBBIT MENU SPECIALS INCLUDE:
FOOD

FIRST BREAKFAST:
Fresh eggs, crispy bacon, grilled mushroom, seared orange

SECOND BREAKFAST:
Strawberries and cream

DINNER:
Stewed Coney with taters, carrot and leak served with crusty bread

ELVEN LEMBAS BREAD:
More of a chewing exercise

SMAUG’S TREASURE FRIES:
Sweet potato fries, house-made beef chili, cheddar, scallions

A HOBBIT’S SALTED PORK SANDWICH:
Prosciutto, white cheddar, leaf lettuce, tomato, red onion, Dijon mustard on a fresh baguette

DRINK

DRAGON’S BREATH:
Rye whiskey, lemon, and sugar with a malbec float

MITHRANDIR:
Gin, lemon, maraschino liqueur, creme de violette
