Today is the Day Before The Biggest, Stinkiest Storm. Nancy is a little worried. So am I. But let’s not forget that today is also Repeal Day, too.

Can you guys believe it’s been 80 years since the United States repealed Prohibition? Holy schnozzle, thank goodness we live in 2013.

This means we can drink this ice storm away with some 80-cent cocktails at Victor Tango’s. Brave that 30-degree weather and head to Henderson Avenue, where you can get a Gin SlingSazeracJapanese Cocktail, and the Mary Pickford for less than a dollar. It’s only happening from 5 p.m. to midnight, so scoot out right after work.

For those of you who don’t live in the Dallas area, though, I have good news. Whiskey Cake in Plano is doing 5-cent cocktails. From 3 to 7 p.m., you can get a Sazerac, French 75, Blood and Sand, Daiquiri and Moscow Mule for a nickel. A NICKEL. You can’t even buy six pennies with a nickel, but you can buy an entire cocktail at Whiskey Cake.

Stay warm, guys. It’s cold out there.

[Update: Former bartenders of what used to be known as Cedars Social are doing $5 craft cocktails at Bolsa tonight. "This event will be held at Bolsa restaurant, 614 W Davis St., from 9:00pm to 2:00am."]
