Reader Reviews: DFW Restaurant Week 2013

DFW-restaurant-weekWe’re rounding the corner into the second weekend of DFW Restaurant Week 2013. We’d love to read your reports. Tell us the good, bad, and the ugly. We also want pictures of great servers. If you have a wonderful service experience, ask for the servers name and snap a photo and email them to me.

Many restaurants still have dinner reservations and some are doing prix fixe lunch specials. Here’s the list. Go out and support our local restaurants. Your dollars will help the North Texas Food Bank and the Lena Pope Home. Remember to tip your server. We’ll fill cyberspace with food: tweet us (@DSideDish) reviews and we’ll retweet them. It’s too hot to think so LET’S EAT.

Hit the Y. O. Ranch Steakhouse in the West End last night. Game is hard to find in Dallas (which doesn’t make a lot of sense) but YO hit it out of the park. The elk was perfect, tons of rich flavor. The first course was outstanding too. I had the corn chowder, and it was essentially elotes in a bowl. Wife had the scallops — she has a green pepper intolerance, and she forgot to ask, but the scallops under the chutney were pan fried so superbly that it didn’t matter.

The apple tart is by far the choice to make on dessert. The chocolate thing is there, I guess, for those people who insist that dessert has to be chocolate.

If the YO just had a nicer beer selection, it would be pretty close to perfect.
