Even though summer is winding down, it doesn’t mean the events are. Well, I got nothin’ else to say, except: it’s Friday. That is all.

Friday

Get thyself to Scardello, the artisan wine and cheese shop, because every bottle on the shelves is 20% off. This weekend only. (Friday-Sunday)

Cook Hall’s monthly beer dinner starts at 7 p.m. tonight for $55 per person. “The five course dinner includes Koelsch paired with east coast oysters with cucumber mignonette, German Lager with seared radish toast with brown butter honey, Franconia Wheat with a roasted strawberry and goat cheese salad dressed with aged balsamic vinegar, Franconia Dunkel with spiced rib-eye, crispy potatoes and cherry mustard, and McKinney Champagne Ale with a raspberry cheesecake sundae.” Nice. Call  214-397-4111 if you’d like to make a reservation.

Saturday

There’s a Global Street Feast in the Harwood District from noon to 7 p.m. Go for all the international cuisine + cooking demonstrations. It’s gonna be cray.

Andrea Bithell is teaching her last and final summer class at We Over Me Farm (Paul Quinn College). She’ll teach you how to grow fruit in your very own backyard. Need help selecting the ideal tree? Andrea has the answer.
