The Greek – Pita, Meze, Wine Opens in One Arts Plaza on Oct. 15

When The Commissary closed in One Arts Plaza, the Ziziki folks promised to install Meze Small Plates and Wine Bar in its place. But now the name has completely changed.

According to a press release, co-owner Mary Arabatzis said, “We found the name Meze was too limiting and confused the public who did not immediately recognize that meze was Greek. Thus, The Greek – Pita, Meze, Wine is a perfect description.”

The Greek – Pita, Meze, Wine joins a list of restaurant-names-too-long-to-actually-ever-say-out-loud. (At the top of this list is The Front Room: A Park Cities Diner, the restaurant inside The Lumen hotel.) Restaurant owners sure like their punctuation marks, don’t they.

The Arabatzis are working with Jason Kosmas on the cocktail menu, and they’ve appointed Richard Silva as the Director of Culinary Operations. The Greek opens October 15.
