I tried Tippy’s Thai at Preston/LBJ. They just celebrated their one month opening birthday, and only recently started offering dinner (they have breakfast and lunch as well). I only had the Chicken Pad See Ewe (really good) and the vegetable spring rolls (nice touch of avocado – but the peanut sauce is a bit gummy). You can choose heat level from 1 to 5. Total bill with tax was only $14. BYOB allowed.

Dinner Tuesday at Carbone’s. Don’t get me wrong. The food is absolutely delicious! But in my opinion, somewhat overpriced for what you get in what is basically, a modern styled Italian deli with very young amateurish high school kid type servers. Like, totally forgetting to give you menus!
A (smallish) portion of delicious sausage ravioli in a wonderful vodka cream sauce. $17.00! No salad or side included. But, very good otherwise.
Also, very short pours for (again, overpriced in my opinion) wines by the glass. $11.50 for a glass of Rose’? Puleeeze!
But then again, It is in Highland Park. We noticed a lot of take out sacks going out the door.
