OAK, Royal Sixty, and Southpaws! OAK had the most amazing dessert ever and Southpaws is always a favorite. Royal Sixty was the perfect ladies lunch with Tea. Kind of far in the design district but would be a good spot, if you have the time and want to try something different.

Here’s where I didn’t eat, Pecan Lodge. At 11 this morning the line was at least 60-70 people deep! It’s really good, but it’s not that good.

Tuesday lunch with friends at Empa Mundo on No. Beltline in Irving. Without a doubt, the VERY BEST Argentine style empanadas in the DFW area. Twelve variety’s at only $2,50 each!
Loved the brisket and onion and, cheese and onion. Great place! A real “sleeper” in Dallas. We loved the owner, Raul. He even serenaded us by singing and playing his acoustic guitar. Can’t wait to return.

@VM: I feel your pain. The same happened to us a couple of weeks ago after Pecan Lodge was featured on “Triple D”.

Great meals at both Lucia and Oak. Lucia: sweet corn soup, rye tagliatelle with a Red Wattle pork ragu, halibut (one of the most perfectly cooked pieces of fish I’ve ever enjoyed) with compressed tomato & watermelon, charred scallion and salsa verde, followed by a bread crumb semifreddo w/ Texas peaches. At Oak, heirloom tomato and burrata salad, enormous and perfectly seared scallops with Vidalia onion risotto and a blueberry polenta financier for dessert.
