Somebody Help This Poor Girl: Dumplings In Dallas

She went to China. She ate dumplings. She’s hooked.

Quick question that I’m hoping you/your readers will have some ideas on. I just got back from a trip to China and ate dumplings basically every night I was there. Any thoughts on a place with good dumplings in Dallas?

  1. Jeng Chi in Richardson Chinatown is historically known for the best dumplings in Dallas. Noodle House, in Plano, is a Taiwanese place that makes their own noodles and has good dumplings. I’ve heard good things about Royal China but I haven’t been there in 10 years so I can’t confirm the quality.

  2. Royal China for sure. Hand made behind the bar. Soup dumplings too!

  3. If anyone can point me to acceptable Xiao Long Bao I will be forever grateful. Not Jeng Chi. Not Royal China. Not Yao Fuzi. I’m talking big and tender soup dumplings like one finds at Din Tai Fung in LA.

  4. Jeng Chi and Royal China will be your staples in the metroplex. If you want the ones like Din Tai Fung, you have to go to Din Tai Fung. Not trying to be an arse, but it will be something amazing to find that deliciousness here in Dallas. (But if you ever do, let me know! I’m always looking for some great dumplings or noodles.)

  5. In addition to those mentioned above, also try King’s Noodle on Polk Street at Greenville Avenue in Richardson.
