What Spring Means to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Food Trucks, Plus Your March 5 Schedule

“Hallelujah!” scream both adults and kids alike. It’s Spring. Winter is over. No more risk of snow, broken trees, downed power lines, and miserable wintery days. How do we know?? To heck with the little rat in Pennsylvania that everyone fawns over.

We know because, YES, the Enticed Shaved Ice truck is back!!!  They are poking their radiator out for just a couple of brief outings in the Arts District, so check the schedule and keep your eyes peeled.  We first fell in love with Enticed last August.

And yet more signs of Spring: Veletta Lill, the Executive Director of the Arts District, reports that the relocated food trucks have done so well that she plans on adding more food trucks for lunch service.  They reportedly managed to get over 600 office workers out of their cages cubicles and on the streets.

City Street Grille is showing up in more public places as well.  First, EDEN‘s chef Karen Kahn will be using the City Street Grille food truck for EDEN’s foray into mobile cooking.  CSG itself will be in the Arts District on Wednesday and Thursday.

I asked all of the food truck owner/operators what food truck was their most recent favorite.  Consistent answers: So-Cal Tacos, Easy Slider, Nammi, and new truck on the block Cajun Tailgators.

Finally, almost all of our food trucks tell us that they need to hire people: Ruthie’s, Cajun Tailgators, City Street Grille, and The Butcher’s Son.  If you want to learn the business, go talk to the onboard owner/operators.
