Hopdoddy Burger Bar Headed to Preston Center in Dallas?

Rumor has it Hopdoddy Burger Bar from Austin just signed a lease in Preston Center for part of the 24-Hour Fitness space. Roll the buzzwords: all-natural, fresh, scratch, and crafted. The name was created to “express the perfect union of burgers and beer: handcrafted beer (hop) + (doddy), the nickname given to the native cow in Aberdeen, Scotland.”  How long before every neighborhood in town has their own gourmet burger bar? Not a bad trend. BTW, sweet potato tots are trending. I ate a whole order last night at Peggy Sue BBQ.

  1. My wife’s parents and some dear friends of ours live in Austin. Hopdoddy’s is definitely a treat; nothing quite like it in Dallas…

  3. Had Hopdoddy in Austin on NYE and absolutely loved it. Very cool burger options, the fires were great and the caramel and sea salt shake was outstanding. Great beer selection, too. Can’t wait for it to open.

  5. Their ordering system is just annoying and the burgers are definitely good but nowhere near mindblowing. I’m always shocked how crowded the one in Austin is when I walk by (lines out the door).

  7. My 2 foodie kids in Austin just love Hopdoddy. Always recommend it when walking on SoCo. I’m trying to stay away from hamburgers for awhile.

  9. Meh. Overall the food is just ok; the actual burgers are below average which they attempt to hide with the over blown menu.

  10. @Bruce – mayo, really? Not even chipotle mayo or maple cinnamon mayo? Just mayo? Me thinks someone can do better but I’ll give it a whirl.
