  1. Pecan Lodge Catering in the Farmer’s Market brisket tacos and bacon wrapped stuffed japalenos are excellent. Super friendly folks working there too. Taverna for dinner was a disappointment. Risotto was not well cooked, a little chalky. That restaurant might need an update . . .

  2. Enjoyed our first visit to Mesa. Ate at the bar and let the bartender work his magic on a couple of outstanding margaritas. Started with the appetizer sampler (empanada, enfrijolades, platano fritos), then I had ceviche. My husband had the pork ribs. Both food and service were outstanding.

  3. Velevet Taco last Saturday lunch. Aside from their great, imaginative tacos, the corn elote tasted like the corn was just scraped off the cob. Delicious!

    Tuesday night at Nosh. Avner’s food is just fabulous. Especially my HUGE lamb shank. The service seemed a little “disconnected” that night, however.

  4. Out on Maple & Motor because it just isn’t worth the hassle and delay at lunch. Will be trying Liberty Burger, though — thanks Nancy. In the meantime, those food trucks are calling my name.

  5. Bolsa Mercado for lunch. Reuben showed promise but horseradish pickles, braised vinegary cabbage, and a shit ton of mustard was too much tart. Look forward to returning when they flush out the lunch options.

  6. d’Carlo Italian Restaurant Saturday night. Very romantic, great service, and good food (fruiti d mare, veal). We want to try out the patio when it warms up.

  7. Lunch today at Cane Rosso (yes, again). First, a Caesar salad with extra anchovies and then, a Regina Margherita pizza with hot sopressata.
    Sooooooo good!

    Yep the food was great, even Ms. Picky liked her hot and sour soup. I can generally put up with the cleanliness but then again I did not go in back.
