Another fantastic meal at Lucia this week. My God – that gnocchi would be on my last meal request list if Texas’ death row still honored last meal requests. And the foie gras stuffed prune? Words fail me.

Stackhouse Burger last weekend. The burger and the grilled cheese were good. But, the homemade potato chips and French onion dip were the big hit of the meal!

Burger at Lakewood Landing last night. One fine burger!
Crab fried rice at Thai Star in Addison. LOVE that place.

Crazy good Kobe flank steak over sweet potato and bacon hash at Nova, all sorts of good stuff at Mughali Indian Cuisine (excellent, perhaps the best Indian food in town), Jimmy Johns roast beef with peppers on wheat bread, house made charcuterie at Campo (every bit as good as Lucia’s).

Big group just had lunch at Cane Rosso. A few first-timers were with us. All were impressed by the food (yet again) and I was happy to see that it was PACKED for lunch.
Lunch at Tei-An earlier this week. Had the short green soba with porcini bolognese. I was a little worried because I was straying from my normal order (duck meatball soba), but it was wonderful and the depth of flavor between the porcini mushrooms and the meat sauce was fantastic. Coworkers had the duck meatball and chicken soba. Combine that with the buckwheat tea and it was a perfect lunch for a cold day.

Picked up a to-go order of chicken pho from Pho for Lovers on Sunday afternoon. Love that place, deep flavors, very clean feeling food. Last night the chicken/cabbage salad with extra fish sauce from Lemongrass, also to-go. Always excellent.

Campo was great and Brad’s cocktails are a perfect fit. Do hesitate to go here. Lunch at Cedar Social. Great place to have a lunch meeting and the food gets better and better. Cavalli pizza is still the best as I found out again this week. Had lunch at Jimmy’s. You know the menu on the wall above the meats? Look above and there is one more sammy available. The roasted pork with broccoli rabe. Seriously good on a cold wet day.

Central 214, new menu and new chef introduced a couple of weeks ago; loved everything we had, kobe steak, grilled squach, risotta, and banana pudding dessert. And, cocktails, 214 Gimlet, with St Germain, very inventive. Highly recommend. Staff was very welcoming, and excelled with service. Thanks David and Ben.

Great lunch at Oishii, such a wonderful and always good standby.. At 2:30 the restaurant was full so lots of other fans enjoying a rainy, cool day. This is a definite keeper – over 8 years now.

We ate at the new BOB’s at the new Omni this weekend–food was great and loved the atmosphere!

The fabulous Sunday buffet at Mughli. Best Indian restaurant in Dallas now.
Spiral Diner. I’m not a “veggie” but the food is surprisingly (to me) very good. The portobello and “cheese” quesadilla was terrific. As was the refreshing coconut limeade.
Lunch at Andrea’s Cajun on Parker Road in Plano. Food was a bit “under seasoned” but delicious, otherwise. My oyster po-boy was huge for $8.95 and the roll was perfect. Their po-boy rolls come from Fiesta. Who knew?

Per my above comment: It’s (Andria’s) Cajun Cuisine. 910 Parker Rd. #360

Ate Friday at El Mesero on McKinney Avenue. The service/staff was a bit shaky, not bad but soft-opening-like, but the food was eye-rolling good. The brisket nachos/tacos was fantastic but the lime-mexican slaw served with it is outrageously good.
