All Orange Cup Natural Frozen Yogurt Locations in Dallas Are Closed

I just called all of the Orange Cup locations in Dallas and the phones are disconnected. Now, does this mean frozen yogurt is trending down? I don’t know as I am not an expert in the frozen yogurt business. But, now that I think about it, I haven’t been getting blasted by shop openings. Just cake balls. Every day another cake ball. What is the next sweet trend? (I did like the pie shakes idea.)

  1. It’s very difficult to make a business model out of a singular product, especially when competitors move in on your popularity. I wish we had one store that sold only Dallas food items, a throw back to the 1970′s co-op grocery.

Mozzerella Co. cheeses, Empire Bakery bread, Canyon Foods salsas, freshly made chips, locally made moon pies. The list could go on and on. If it was in the farmer’s market it would do fabulously (like on the first floor of the Resource Center?) with the Convention crowd.

That is my money idea for the day. Now somebody jump on it.

  2. This happened back in March. Their facebook page said they were going to make a comeback but I don’t think anything ever came of it.

  3. There place in Northpark Mall has already been leased to La Paloma Taqueria. Good concept when they opened but then Yumilicious came in and just did it better. Orange Cup offered only 3 flavors, plus I think people really enjoyed the “top it yourself” concept like Yumilicious (which by the way is opening in Northpark).

  4. Well there’s a new dessert shop in the DFW area called Sweet Mix located in Richardson and the specialize in making fresh crepes, dessert waffle sandwiches, shaved ice fruit bowls, sundaes, sno-cones, smoothies and all sorts of other things…really cute place that’s really out of this world delicious!! I wouldn’t be surprised if they open up more locations in the near future….hope so because I have to drive all the way from frisco.
