Again, updates will be forthcoming throughout the week. Feel free to leave comments with other suggestions.
Monday (9/19)
It’s vino night.
Wine dinner at Toulouse.
Wine dinner at Taverna in Fort Worth.
Wines tasting at Urban Crust in Plano.
With one exception: the Brewtopia sale at Central Market continues.
Tuesday (9/20)
Cooking class at Duo. Omar Flores of Abacus will give you the skinny on football party food, which probably won’t actually help you get skinny but will undoubtedly taste good.
Thursday (9/22)
Book signing with John DeMers, author of Lone Star Kitchen, at Duo. Prime opportunity for spotting the trifecta: Fearing, Rathbun, and Pyles are all expected to show.
Friday (9/23)
Greek Food Festival of Dallas kicks off at 4 PM. Official Greek ambassador Constantine Maroulis, last seen in Dallas starring in Rock of Ages, is here to give us a very Hellenic performance entitled “A Night at the Rock Show.”
Saturday (9/24)
Greek Food Festival of Dallas continues. Spanakopita galore.
Free wine tasting at Stoney’s Fine Wines. This one is a fixture. Pop in every Saturday afternoon to try something new and affordable.
Sunday (9/25)
Greek Food Festival of Dallas.
Drag brunch at Dish. If you were a fan of the short-lived ABC series Dirty Sexy Money, you’ll recognize Sunday’s special guest. Candis Cayne starred as Carmelita, the transgender mistress of William Baldwin’s Patrick Darling, the New York Attorney General.

TJ Lengnick from Whiskey Cake (formerly of Shinsei) is leading the Duo class on Tuesday.
Clearly, Greek Festival is insanely popular and does not need my patronage. A fantastic people-watching adventure, but if you have particular foods you want to try, don’t wait until Sunday because they’re likely to be sold out even if you go right when it opens.
