Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill in Plano Undergoes Expansion

It’s nice to see this tiny trend in Dallas—small seafood markets growing by stages into little restaurants. Rex’s on Lovers is one example; Sea Breeze in Plano is another. Owner Mark Alterman has created a dedicated following for the market’s New England clam chowder, lobster rolls, and fresh, wild seafood. Now he’s going to give his fans a place to sit. The space will expand by 50 percent and will allow for a full-service restaurant and bar. Additionally, they will ramp up their catering business. Construction is already underway and the project is expected to be completed in November.

  1. My biggest complaint is that they’re not closer to me in Uptown.

  2. Food quality and service is very up and down. Do not recommend Sea Breeze at all. Living in Plano and hearing people’s comments, they have not been positive.

  3. Wow Al, i hope you give it another try, i have lived in plano for 16yrs and this is by far the best freshest seafood in town, I mean what else do we have? Rockfish? Please… That place is overpriced, mostly frozen, and terrible french fries.

I am happy to see seabreeze expand and survive in a tough space that is lakeside market. Keep it local.

  6. I love Sea Breeze. Went for Lobster Rolls and it was great. I’ll be back for the yummy clam chowder (when the temp dips below 80).

  9. Congratulations, Mark! The fiancee and I have not been in in a while (opening a restaurant and planning a wedding ties up a bit of time…) but we look forward to visiting you again soon. Plano (and Dallas) is lucky to have Sea Breeze. — Justin Beam

  10. I’m from the Baltimore, so a born and bred seafood-addic the first time I ate at SeaBreeze I hugged them for giving me a taste of home, the quality is always fantastic. My favorite seafood in Dallas by far!
