Someone Help These Poor Patriots Out

This just in:

We are going to the fireworks at Fair Park and want to go somewhere for dinner first. Any thoughts on what restaurants in Lakewood, Lower Greenville, Deep Ellum or Henderson that might be open for dinner on the 4th? I tried three, none of which will be open.

An excellent question. As they have not specified a type of food, I’d say anything’s “Fair” game (see what I did there?).

  1. Just about every bar in Deep Ellum and Expo Park serves good to excellent food. The Meridian Room, right across the street from the Fair, is a favorite. Pizza Lounge (next door to Meridian) and La Grange are also great bets.

  6. Lemongrass restaurant at 2711 Elm Street in Deep Ellum. Excellent and reasonably priced Vietnamese with their own (free) parking lot across the street. Normally, they’re open on Mondays but, I’d call first for 7/4.
