As one of my favorite comics Martin Mull used to say, “Let’s not say au revoir, let’s just say hors d’oeuvres.” This morning Dave Faries, creator of Critic’s Guide, writes:
We’re still tweaking the information and accounting for the ebb and flow of restaurant life—closures, openings, new chefs and so on. But the arrival of the Fearless Critic guide to Dallas-Fort Worth allows me to shut down the current iteration of Critic’s Guide and start work on a revamp. It should be fun.
There were plenty of things to marvel at Saturday night at the festive Côtes du Coeur, but these boots I found particularly amazing. Can you guess the person whose feet is crammed into these boots?

The Hilton Anatole Hotel ballroom was packed on Saturday night for the 20th Annual Côtes du Coeur International Fine Wine Auction and Celebrity Chef Dinner. Over 30 wineries and 16 top Dallas chefs participated in the event, which raises money for the American Heart Association to conduct research to find a cure for heart disease and stroke. Heart Disease is the number one killer of men and women in America. This night not only raised money, it was a wonderful time to enjoy fine food and fine wine.
Please jump for joy of loving food and wine and the fact that our local chefs continue to contribute time, product, and energy to charitable causes.

While hundreds of attendees enjoyed the heart-healthy effects of wine I got to talk to some of the winemakers who had come into town for Côtes du Coeur.
Jump to hear what they all had to say.
