Sitting on Sawhorses and Coolers? Twisted Root Burger Tries Out Shipping and Tailgating Themes in Two New Locations

Twisted Root‘s proprietor/chef/bartender/busboy, Jason Boso, has announced plans to open two locations in the area. The first will open this month in Plano’s The Shops at Legacy, and the second is set to open in Arlington this September.

The Shops at Legacy location will feature a transportation shipping yard theme where guests will order food from inside a shipping container and sit on sawhorse chairs and shipping pallet benches. Open garage doors will lead to a patio that can accommodate approximately 60 guests.

Twisted Root Burger in Arlington will feature a tailgate theme, complete with Weber Grill tables, tailgate bench seating, and beer coolers as chairs. A large patio will accommodate about 70 patrons and feature two large projection screens for watching “Dancing with the Stars, Jersey Shore and oh yeah, some sports too,” adds Boso.

In addition to the new locations, Twisted Root is upgrading its menu with a couple new items. The Surf and Turf Burger starts with a beef patty and a melted slice of brie topped with a large fried prawn and horseradish aioli. The new Big Pimp’n French Fries dress up the regular fries with a toss in some clarified butter and the decadent addition of white truffle oil and aged parmesan shavings.

  1. I wish it was the sister chain, Cowboy Chow, that was expanding so quickly. I’d love to have one of those in east Plano or Allen.

Although, both of the new items sound good to me, especially that burger.
