Dean and Lynae Fearing Announce Divorce

The restaurant rumor mill was churning last night. Word on the street: Dean and Lynae Fearing are getting divorced. At the risk of sounding corny, when I heard the gossip a sharp pang pierced my heart.

“Yes, it’s true,” says Lynae. “It’s sad, but it’s time to move on. We are not angry and neither one of us have one minute of regret. We are going to show how to do divorce the right way.”

The Fearing’s have been married for 20 years and have two children. They are also business partners with Tracy and Kent Rathbun in the restarant Shinsei and the newly opened culinary shop Duo.

Dean just texted me a statement.

“After 20 years of marriage, Dean and Lynae Fearing have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. “We are deeply committed to remaining friends and loving parents to our two sons, and we are grateful for the support of friends and family at this time.”

  2. This is none of our business. This blog is turning into the foodie version of TMZ. Sickening.

  3. If they want to do it the right way, stay friends and do the best thing for the children they should keep the lawyers out of it.

  4. With a couple of this high of a profile (two extremely successful business owners) it makes sense to release a statement so that the rumor mill doesn’t get started. No one is prying into their business. This was a very respectful and worthy statement to put out to those that only know them by their public personas and to those that know them personally.

We wish them both the very best and are glad that they are taking a thoughtful approach to what must be a very hard decision and change in their lives. Lots of love and respect, Dean and Lynae.

  5. I agree with B&W. I work in the industry and I’ve heard rumrors. I don’t think this report was gossip I think it is fair. I am sorry to hear of their split but cutting out the bullshit before it hits the fan is smart. Good luck and put the children first

  6. If this blog is TMZ, then who is the Charlie Sheen of the DFW foodie/restaurant scene?
