Super Bowl Weekend Tips from Cadillac

The Taste of the NFL will be an unforgettable evening before the Super Bowl with professional football’s biggest players, an elaborate celebratory cake by TLC’s the “Cake Boss,” and the nation’s finest chefs preparing more than 60,000 gourmet samples for guests at the Fort Worth Convention Center Saturday, Feb. 5, at 7 pm. It’s all in the name of ending hunger. One particular dish — Short Rib Pierogi, created by renowned Manhattan-area chef Stephen Lewandowski — features tender beef marinated in red wine, herbs, and garlic with roasted mushrooms. Some of North Texas’ best chefs will be serving up delicious dishes, thanks to Cadillac.

Restaurant Rant, Cont.: What Cuisine is Dallas’ Strong Suit?

Yesterday we learned from Leslie Brenner that Tex-Mex is not Dallas’ strong suit. We have steak houses, but so does every other city in America. Home cooking? Sushi? Burgers? Cupcakes? New American? I’m so confused. So, dear snow-bound Dishers, take a moment to think this through. What cuisine is our strong suit?
