Wendy Krispin to Open Royal 60 in Dallas Design District

Lots of buzz about new spots opening in the Dallas Design District. I just learned that long-time Dallas caterer Wendy Krispin will open Royal 60 at the end of the summer. The cuisine? Colonial French. Plans call for lunch only with hopes of becoming a wine bar at night. Royal 60 will be located at at International on Turtle Creek.

  1. Aside from Royal 60, what else is being buzzed about? I’m curious to see if the Meddlesome Moth is going to get a worthy companion to bring more people to that area.

  4. WTF;What is Colonial French (besides rather pretentious)? Does it mean there will be subservient Vietnamese and North Africans waiting tables?

  5. So right now, besides the Moth, where else can I eat in the Design District that comes recommended?

  6. awesome… yes, we need more restaurants! Bring it Wendy!
There isn’t too much to choose from, but here goes:

The Purple Artichoke inside “Found” antique store is nice for a quiche of the day, side salad kinda lunch. Nice soups, etc.

Mama’s Daughter’s Diner is a little cute divey diner with lunch specials like CFS and different veggies of the day.

    and….

    hmmm…

Subway. Two on Industrial. Excuse me, Riverfront.
