While tooling around downtown on one of our sweet office bikes, I espied a couple guys doing demo work next door to Press Box Grill on Main Street. Sign in the window says the joint will be called Pho Colonial and they’ve applied to sell and consume alcoholic beverages. Good news!

Is that the spot where that odd seeming breakfast place was, between PBG and the italian place (Roma something or another)? I remember back in my downtown days in 2008/early 2009 when that place went in, there were a couple of mornings when a couple of silent picketers would stand near the entrance with signage to the effect of “[restaurant name] does not pay wages.” This ringing a bell with anyone?
I don’t remember the picketing, but I remember that place. Before that, it sold Greek food, and I can’t remember what it was before that. Anyway, I would love to have a pho place at that location. Hope it thrives.
That’s just across the street from my office! Great news!
HAPPY DANCE!
ooh! *slurp* Downtown definitely need a pho joint. that’s wonderful news
As a downtown resident that works at home often, I will welcome this new restaurant with weekly visits… if it’s good.
From the look at the Pho website it looks like the food is going to be good. Does anyone knows the opening day? If it is the same owner from the Drae the food has to be good. I am counting the days.
Is that the porta di roma location across from what was Bank One building
