Step Up Your Skills at One of Canary by Gorgi’s Wine-Fueled Cooking Classes

There are some folks up here on the 21st floor—I’m thinking of a certain Creative Director who used yesterday’s snow flurries as an excuse to stay home and whip up a simple boeuf bourguignon—who have mad skills in the kitchen. For them, and people who want to be more like them, Chef/Owner Mansour Gorji of Canary by Gorji is stepping up to the plate to share some of his own mad skills on Jan. 17 in a cooking class cleverly disguised as a three-course wine dinner.

  • Sautéed Oyster Mushrooms with Celery Root, Carrot & Pea Salad paired with Angora, Sultana de Denizli 2008 (Turkey)
  • Halibut with Sour Cherry Sauce paired with Herdade Do Esporao Alentejo Reguengos Reserva 2007 (Alentejo, Portugal)
  • Pistachio & Saffron Ice Cream paired with Sweet Muscat Wine 2008 (Greece)

The whole smash will set you back a paltry $59, plus tax & gratuity. As you’d imagine, seating is limited, so call 972.503.7080 to stake out a spot.

  2. A friend of mine has been to some of his classes. I’ve been meaning to try one, and this one may be it. Really curious about that mushroom appetizer. And sour cherry sauce on fish.
