Drop by Sigel’s in Addison Tomorrow for the Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Cutting of the Parmigiano Reggiano

Ceremonial cutting of the cheese this Saturday.

Every year, Sigel’s in Addison buys a few newly released wheels of Parmigiano-Reggiano. They squirrel them away for a few years to age and, on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, they invite customers in for a ceremonial cutting of the cheese.

That would make this Saturday (20th) the big day.

Try to arrive by 1 pm to witness the process of cutting open up the wheels, which will be a five and three years old, and to have time to visit with the guest cheese monger on hand to sample a number of artisanal cheeses from small European producers, including the Beemster Co-op in Holland (the exclusive milk supplier to Ben & Jerry’s Europe).

Sounds like a perfectly tasty Saturday afternoon to me.

Sigel’s Addison is located at 15003 Inwood Rd. (And it is spelled Sigel’s. Sorry about that!)

  1. It’s Sigel’s,

Siegel’s is the home of the guy suing to keep Dallas dry.
