Pine Ridge Winery Chef Discusses Pairing Wine and Food

2009 Chenin Blanc - Viognier ($14)

Pine Ridge is one of Napa Valley’s most prestigious wineries. Since 1978, it has turned out quality, small production wines that have garnered a worldwide following.

The Crimson Wine Group owns and operates a collection of small, boutique wineries that includes Napa (Pine Ridge Winery), Edna Valley (Chamisal Vineyards), and the Dundee Hills in Oregon’s Willamette Valley (Archery Summit), as well as vineyards in development in Washington State’s Columbia Valley. These wines are readily available in Dallas. Recently Eric Maczko, executive chef at Pine Ridge,  came to town to talk about wine and food. I took the opportunity to meet the Culinary Institute of America graduate and Certified Sommelier at Rise No. 1 in Inwood Village to discuss pairing wine and food.

  1. Just got back from a visit to Pine Ridge, conveniently located on the Silverado Trail. The vino there is just fantastic, I was very impressed in the the wine making overall and left with nearly a case of their wines. If you dig cab, like I do then grab yourself some of the 06 Oakville, pretty tasty juice.

    Cheers!
