Egg Recall: How Would You Dispose of 500 Million Bad Eggs

I’m sure you’ve been keeping up with the outbreak of Salmonella enteritidis that has been traced back to bad eggs . So far, the recall is up to 500 million eggs. My question to my co-workers yesterday: “What do you do with 500 million infected eggs?” Has anyone read anything about the disposal of these eggs?

  1. I can think of a really big house that could use some egging. Is anyone home?

  3. Egg shells make wonderful compost additives- they’ll probably sell them to a company that will grind them up and turn them into powder.

  6. How about building an enormous slingshot with an extraordinarily gentle acceleration curve and shoot them into the sun? That would make some cool Youtube video.

  7. Take them to the shooting range. Eggs make great targets. Visible from a distance and you can tell when you hit one.
