La Duni’s New Breakfast Bites o’ Heaven

Look good? You ought to taste one. Or three. Here at D World Headquarters, I’ve been passing around a box of La Duni’s new breakfast mini muffins stuffed with mozzarella, Gruyere, and bits of bacon, and they’re a huge hit. I discovered them this morning at the Oak Lawn location where they told me they debuted the muffins at the NorthPark La Duni last week. They’ll also soon be available at La Duni’s new downtown location across from the Sixth Floor Museum.  The muffins come in sausage and ham flavors as well.

  1. My whole family and many friends banned La Duni almost 2 years ago when Taco, the owner, made my wife cry. He called her a liar and said that he was going to charge her credit card a penalty because his employee had written down the wrong date for our reservation for their wine tasting.

His person wrote it down that we were there for some special dinner the week prior to the wine tasting. Even though we had called the day before the wine tasting to confirm and to add 2 more people to our reservation – when we arrived, there was no reservation, only a charge for ’skipping’ the dinner that we had no idea existed that was 7 days earlier….he said he was charging her credit card $300 for the missed meal.

I got him to straighten up after I got there, but only after my wife had been yelled at by that a-hole. Emailed him and his wife after the incident – its been almost 2 years, havent heard back.

Banned it – and havent been back since. We were regulars, my mom used to go once a week, if not twice.

    So screw their muffins.

  4. Cry babies! A great product like La Duni does not come free. There are bunches of taco joints that you can eat at for 2 bucks…Does anyone understand the concept of paying rent, personnel, utilities, cost of food? If you like a pleasant environment to sit at, and eat quality prepared foods, then it will cost you…

  5. I have heard of Taco jumping through thre proverbial hoop to appease guests. It seems that a major misunderstanding transpired with the guy and his family. If you have such a long, fulfilling relationship with a place (dining at least once a week) why nuke so quickly? Instead, remember that “Where there is cake there is love”, the new treats aren’t muffins, they are Bizcochos and “Where there are Bizcochos there is also love”, and in conclusion, screw the muffins !
