When Gina Campisi decided to open Fedora in the One Arts Plaza, she agreed to be a guest blogger here on SideDish. She wrote several Restaurant 101 posts chronicling her experiences. I’ve pulled a couple of my favorites.
“Permit Me To Have A Nervous Breakdown”

I loved reading her posts. They were a lot of fun and a real eye-opener for anyone that dreamed of opening their own restaurant. What a sad day.
I am so sorry for her family and friends, and my thoughts and prayers are with them. What a beautiful, hard-working girl.
What a sad loss — my heart goes out to her family. I think that all those anonymous posters who used SideDish to viciously attack this young woman must wonder today if their malice struck at her heart and helped her make her final decision. I also hope every one of them will think twice before they decide to get out their poison keyboards and spew hate. Please, people, the blogs are for lively debate, entertainment and information, so keep it civil.
Wow, Mac. I hope that you get some help, nothings ever bad enough to resort to suicide, in my opinion. Things will always get better.
Sorry, I just got to the office and deleted several comments including Mac’s. Who are you people?
God bless her and her family. you never know what’s going on in someone’s life
With Saddened feelings….I just KNOW that
Gina is now in NEW, and COMPLETELY welcomed
eternal HOME. Sooo Lovingly EMBRACED by God!
All too sad – Condolences to family and friends alike. The Dallas Suicide & Crisis Center 24 hour crisis line is 214-828-1000.
Such a shame. ; (
After reading Haters post on contact information for the vicious Max and Julie Lonntel, I am amazed that they are involved in the restaurant business. One would think they would have some compassion for Gina and maybe even offer some advice or words of encouragement. Instead they bashed her on multiple occasions. Although we will never truly understand what Gina was going through, there is no doubt in my mind that individuals like Max and Julie Lonntel contributed to her sadness. I looked up Brasserie Max & Julie and could not find any mention of Max and Julie Lonntel. Can anyone verify? If they are truly associated with this establishment, I propose that the thousands of friends of the Campisi family launch a massive campaign to boycott their Houston restaurants-Café Rabelais and Brasserie Max & Julie. People who are as hateful as Max and Julie Lonntel are do not deserve success of any kind.
Very interesting post. Couldn’t be written any better. Reading this post reminds me of my old bud. He always kept talking about this. I will send this post to him. Am sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!
