That is what I hear. Just south of the center next to the Centennial across from Houston’s.

Joeat — Nicola’s is a restaurant. Best known for location in Plano’s Shops at Legacy. Always packed!

Thanks, scooby, I have been to Jasper’s a few times but just wasn’t familiar with Nicola’s but PC is close to me and I hope, from the name, it is Italian since I can’t find good Italian.

I wouldn’t call Nicola’s ‘good Italian’ by any means. The old location in the Galleria was great, but the Shop @ Legacy location is a fancy sellout. Price tag makes the Martini-Park style crowd think they are getting good food. In reality it’s 2.5 stars tops.

Nicola’s used to be in the Galleria, it has been several years since I visited the Plano location but they had an wonderful thin crust pizza. Hope they still have it.
It’s owned by Culinaire International http://www.culinaireintl.com/index.htm, which also is one of the largest food service businesses in Dallas (at least the last time the industry was “the list” in the Dallas Business Journal).

Culinaire makes a mean hotdog at the FW Zoo. (Seriously)

Not a fan of Nicola’s, at all. They can’t even make a decent pasta bolognese for a lunch price of $12! Seller.

I do think that the Plano location is overrated. Last time I was there — for a business dinner — the food was rather underwhelming and over-priced. But, it is always busy and for some reason folks think it’s just great!?! Go figure…

I haven’t been to Nicola’s in years, but I was always a fan of their carpaccio. I would order it as a light (protein packed) lunch. Yum

Wait a minute… over priced, mediocre Italian food? Sounds like Patrizio’s is getting some competition in the Park Cities!

Wether it’s good or bad food, you’ll still have to climb over the “Parkers” to get in.

Aren’t they called “Parkies?” At least, that’s what I read on the Park Cities People blog…when I want to get a flavor of life in the bubble.

I had their bolognese for lunch recently and thought it was good. Also one of the only spots in town that routinely has bucatini on their menu. And they pour one of my favorite chiantis, Ormanni, by the glass. Glad they’re bringing their game closer to home!

Pretty interesting post. Couldn’t be written any better. Reading this post reminds me of my old mate. He always kept talking about this. I will forward this post to him. Am sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!
