Why am I having such an impossible time thinking of an intimate restaurant, north of LBJ that my husband and I can have a quiet, little pre-Christmas meal tonight without completely breaking the bank? Truthfully, I can’t even think of an intimate place if it would break the bank. Any ideas?

Lavendou, Cadot, Mi Piaci. Price point, type of food, fancy or casual?
Mi Piaci
Sweet Basil (www.sweetbasilitalian.com)
Giovanni’s (www.giovanniitalian.com)
How far North? Kotta Sushi and Bonnie Ruths at Lebanon and the Tollway are both very good and more intimate. I know it seems cliche, but if you two haven’t done fondue, going to the Melting Pot in addison is certainly a fun evening.
Paesanos in Plano, near downtown. The booths are canopied in toile.
Amici’s in Carrollton http://www.amicisignature.com/index.html
And I almost forgot the new Ruggeri’s. (www.ruggerisrestaurant.com)
Cafe Bene Bene on Frankfurt and the Tollroad. Intimate, authentic (and reasonable) Italian.
Lefty’s in Addison
Scratch Mi Piaci. One of the noisiest restaurants in town. Ideal for a meal with someone you don’t want to talk to.
I second Lavendou. Nicolas is the Shops at Legacy too.
Also agree with Cadot and Bene Bene.
Jasmine Thai, as long as there aren’t any families. Masami maybe.
Canary Cafe.
Sorry to be late to the party on this. And ditto the scratch on Mi Piaci. Totally overrated.
Addison Cafe is a lovely little place, and I concur with Lavendou and Nicola’s (although it can get a bit noisy)
