Finally, An Official Word About The Hacienda On Henderson

A few weeks ago I told you about Hacienda on Henderson, which is going into the old Cuquita’s space. Looks like they’ve hired some PR help, because we just got this press release–stick with me after the jump for the full release–announcing the restaurant’s opening, which has been pushed back a week to July 31. The most interesting piece of news is they intend to keep alive Cuquita’s late-night dining tradition, so you can eat until 4 am on weekends. Personally, I’m looking forward to a $5 margarita on that pretty patio. (For the record, I resisted the temptation to copy edit the release.)

Hip new hot spot, Hacienda on Henderson announced today plans to open to the public on Friday, July 31st. The restaurant/bar, located in a newly restored 1940s estate home at 2326 N. Henderson Avenue in Dallas will feature an expansive outdoor space for patio dining. Hacienda will continue the late night dining tradition of the locations’ former occupant, Cuquita’s.  Dallas restaurant and club veterans Patrick Tetrick, Chris Faulkner and Miles Zuniga have teamed up to bring live music, tequilas infused in-house with exotic flavors and $5 frozen margaritas to the lush patio space. Executive Chef Mike Dimas’ menu will feature a mix of traditional Tex-Mex favorites combined with authentic Mexican “family” recipes served up in a high-energy environment.   Visitors should be sure to sample margaritas made with Hacienda’s exclusive house-infused jalapeno, habanero, pineapple and strawberry tequilas.
Dimas has over 15 years of experience, most recently as the Executive Chef/partner of Wynnwood Special Events, here in Dallas. Dimas’ strengths lie in transforming restaurants through exceptional food and drink. Coupled with the talents of Tetrick, Faulkner and Zuniga, Hacienda on Henderson should prove to be a Henderson Ave. anchor and local hot spot for years to come. Tetrick and Faulkner also own Lotus, a posh but relaxed McKinney lounge, and have been in the club business for many years. Zuniga also owns two neighborhood bars on Henderson — the Slip Inn and Vickery Park. “We are extremely excited to have secured this location, Henderson Avenue is really booming and Hacienda will be a great addition to the neighborhood,” said Tetrick.

    Has Cuquita’s opened somewhere else?
I will never forget my brother screaming “Rat! Rat! Raton!!!!” as a big hungry-looking one scampered under our table one morning at about 3 a.m. Our waitress just grinned at us.

    We still went back though.

Cuquita’s has two other locations by the same family:

    8076 Spring Valley Rd, Dallas

    13260 Josey Ln, Farmers Branch

The quotation police is skeptical about the “family” recipes.

Doesn’t seem to be related to Mario Martinez Hacienda restaurant or his La Hacienda Ranch. Have they avoided legal troubles by opening as Hacienda on Henderson? Even so, will there be confusion? Only time will tell.

COB et al, yes there are those two locations you diagram but when Cuquita’s sold Henderson, they moved to the southeast Dallas restaurant strip in Pleasant Grove on Lake June Road between Jim Miller Road and S. Buckner, Pleasant Grove. That is where the original crew hang and the food is intact. I go there often and the late night weekend gig is intact.

Ummmmm, that looks like a very poor press release.
Im skeptical to see what this group of bar veterans can cook up for a Tex Mex & family recipe restaurant.
Maybe some queso, bagged chips & fajitas and more texmex glob?

Actually, they moved to Oak Cliff from the closed Henderson location to open anew in the strip mall at Kiest and Hampton, a little down from the Baskin-Robbins. they now have 4 locations in town.

I stopped in last week…they have an executive chef working in there..I think these bar veterans realize that booze is only part of the menu..they seem to be going all out
