Subhed by Eric Celeste: Texas gets its ass kicked by Louisville.
And Eric is right. Glazer’s Guy Stout is in Cincinnati for the Court of Master Sommelier exam and files an interesting report on how the test is conducted. Guy is a Master Sommelier, one of four in Texas, and Glazer’s corporate product training manager for wine and a certified wine educator. He also owns a 3-acre Syrah vineyard in the Texas Hill Country. Ranch Up!, Texas winos. We don’t like to loose lose.
L-O-S-E, not loose.
Sorry, but that particular mis-spelling is a pet peeve of mine.
Guy Stout’s report is worth a read. It is an absolutely fascinating, and very humanized, account of the examination process. I have a new respect for all graduates.
Eric,
I wouldn’t go so far as to say we got our butts kicked.
I was not a pass on my first attempt at the Masters. The level of required knowledge and expertise keep growing as new regions and sub-regions and wine styles evolve. Don’t be too hard on out Texas team. They made it to the show and several passed portions of the exam.
I am very proud of them…… Guy Stout
