Christopher Wynn has the scoop on the Eats blog. The folks at Fedora say they will re-open later this week or early next week. So, there’s that.

Historic Sigel’s Sign is Going Up in Addison

sigelThat’s the inside story on the historic sign that was taken down on May 13th. According  to Sigel’s rep, Jasper Russo, the sign will be placed on its new pole in Addison tomorrow. Sigel’s is planning a dedication ceremony and wine sale some time after July 4th. Stay tuned. (I hear some high profile wines and spirits will be 50% off.)

UPDATE: False start. Japser jumped the gun. The sign will go up  next week.

Good Wine Cheap at Eatzi’s

A little songbird just landed on my computer screen and sang this tune:

eatZi’s Market & Bakery just received 150 cases of Fourplay Rosso No1. The red wine blend from Sicily is going on sale today for $3.99 a bottle (max of 1 case per customer). The bottle normally retails for $16.99 each.

On your mark…

Cheese Course Primer at Molto Formaggio

p-16-160Don’t know your gouda from your double gloucester? Not sure what to pair with it? The friendly fromage experts at Molto Formaggio are teaching two composed cheese courses (Wed., June 24 at Highland Park Village and Thurs., June 25 at Preston Royal Shopping Center). Chef Craig Murphy will share different cheese courses, treating them like a main dish and building a plate of complementing flavors to show off the cheese. You’ll also get to sample wines that complement the cheeses and taste MF’s new cheesecakes by pastry chef Kate Graver. But wait. There’s more. You’ll also get a gift bag stuffed with chesses, confit, and recipe cards. The HPV bags will contain a bottle of wine. All this knowledge for $75 per couple at HPV or $45 at Preston Royal.

The Next SideDish Supper Club is Simmering

supperclubAfter the first SideDish Supper Club at the Mercury, a sometimes polite young man asked me how we were going to top the all sous vide menu. Frankly, the meal was so good, I didn’t think we could. Then came the over-the-top kaiseki dinner paired with sake presented by Kenichi.  I can still taste the strawberry with sansho, black pepper, and granita. Tough to top that.

But Dishers, I think I have. We had a great meeting yesterday and I can already smell the menu. The restaurant is teeny and the meal will, once again, be created especially for SideDish readers. It will sell out fast so we may do two seatings. Tentative date is September 17.

Want to be the first to find out the details of the next SideDish Supper Club? Type your e-mail address under the SupperClub logo on the right side of this page. Or join us on Twitter (DSideDish). I could spill the beans at any time. (Whoops.)
