One Last “Best Fried Catfish” Nominee

Last week, I asked who had the best fried catfish in Dallas and you, sweet SideDishers, replied with much golden crispy enthusiasm. Top Cat and Flying Fish ran away with it though there were a few intriguing suggestions. (Aligator Cafe? I’m so there.) Just received one late contender in my inbox:

Believe it or not, Dick’s Last Resort uses farm-raised catfish from Mississippi and hand breads each piece. Great stuff!

And now you know.

  1. Dodie’s on Greenville. Last weekend I had the absolute best fried seafood platter I have ever had in my entire life. (and the worst slaw, but hey…we’re talking grease. And yes, I go a lot to Alligator Cafe. Both Cajun joints.

  2. I went to Dick’s Last Resort for the first time and had the fried catfish. Will not be going back anytime soon.

  3. What about Bubbas… it’s the very best and so Dunstons… however .. I have come from parties and drove thru bubbas and wow… it’s worth the grease stains on my clothes.

    Goood!

  4. Ozona’s breads theirs with tortila chips (not 100% sure) and sits atop queso. Best. Catfish. Hands. Down.
