According to a Facebook-lovin’ Disher, the former owners of Sushi On McKinney are reopening a few doors down from their original location. This “news” is copied from Associated Press, Facebook:
A friend posted the following on Facebook: “I knew people would be as excited as me! I got an email saying they were reopening and I got to go for free sushi tonight! It was good! They only had a buffet tonight, but it was free! Same menu and some new stuff! All the old staff! It is a few doors down from the old location! They officially reopen this Friday night! So exciting!”
So! There! You! Have! It!
They’ve been running an ad in Quick for the past few weeks annoucing the re-opening – officially 4.24 @ 4438 McKinney Ave.
What landmark is it next to?
Based on that address, it looks like it is going in where Cretia’s used to be, next to La Cubanita, south of Armstrong.
Thanks, Darren. You’re hired.
Devil Roll – Bring it!
Ahh, the joys of maps.google.com! You just have to figure out how long ago they took the picture for the Street View!
yay!
That’s literally the best news I’ve had all day. So, when is the actual opening?
Hasn’t this been posted on here previously? It’s been known for weeks/months that they were going in to the old Cretia’s spot. Or is the “news” the opening date? I thought in previous reports it was new owners that the original owners moved back to Asia?
I’ve heard the rumor for a couple of weeks…YAY
I are very excite!!!
Great success
I went to the new Sushi on McKinney last night(now next door to Cubanita, one block south from the old SOM. They’re opening “soft” because they’re still a little understaffed, but friendly as always. Fai, a former waitress, is the new owner. Give her a hug for reopening.
The new space is really attractive – you have to admit the old SOM was looking pretty tired. I had all my old favorites and they were great. It is reasonably priced. It doesn’t have a long menu of fancy rolls, which seems to be the trend lately, but it was delicous. I am so happy to have it back. Now if only Gennie’s Bishop Grill reopened . . .
