Heard about Rahr beer a few years ago and stopped on our way down to South Padre island to get some. Ugly Pug is # 1 with us. Brought some home with us and now stopping on the way down and way back is a must.

My wife and I are headed back up to the Dallas area for Easter weekend to visit family, does anyone know if the Saturday bar tours will be going on this weekend?

Beer are good. Good beer are even better!

Saturday's at the Rahr brewery are always a great time. Last year, my first stop after my home plate enterance at the ballpark was always to the "beers of Texas" stand just to the right to grab my first Rahr beverage before I headed to my seat. To me, there nothing better than sitting in the sun, watching a Rangers game while sipping on a delicious Rahr beer. Everything the brew is delicious, the IPA is great, obviously the Ugly Pug, Stormcloud, Blind Salamander, their Whisky Warmer that was served at the Flying Saucer in Fort Worth was amazing as well. I look forward to the Red!

Methinks Franconia (http://www.franconiabrewing.com/homepage.html) might disagree with his comment about being the only micro brewery in the metroplex.

At The Libertine, we do have Rahr on draught and Ugly Pug is stupidly good & easy to drink and is actually one on the top sellers of our meager nine taps. And I'd love to mention that the entire staff (of 9) did a brewery tour last month, and it was FANTASTIC. A must-do-road-trip in the Dallas area. These guys are serious about their beer, and seriously NICE people. Then there's the candles...the list goes on. JUST GO! NOW!
