So I was on my way to work this morning, and I passed by Casa Blanca Tex-Mex, as I do every day. (Casa Blanca, you may recall, is an off-shoot of Mia’s; it’s owned by Ana “Mama Mia” Enriquez’s niece Gina.) Well, today isn’t just another day on Lemmon Avenue, because there were two CLOSED signs in the window and a “For Information Call” sign in the parking lot. I just tried calling, and no one picked up. Looks like another casualty of the economy. Discuss.
Sadness.
Didn’t Leslie Brenner review that place? The Leslie Brenner jinx?
Kathie, you are correct:

Can’t believe they’re gone either. Awesome food spent many nights there myself. Maybe they got caught up in the economy crunch aswell!
Kathie: It just goes to show that even a postitive restaurant review can’t save a troubled restaurant, no matter how good the food may or may not be.
That is a darn shame. I loved this place and went there at least once a week. They had some of the best salsa I have ever had!
i want to thank every one for supporting me with casa blanca i will be closed but not for long
thank you

Im so sad….Gina, please come back somewhere else in the gayborhood. we need you!!
It’s too bad CB closed BUT… You can get the same exact recipe’s and same great food with a livelier atmosphere at either of the Manny’s, Uptown on Oak Grove and Lemmon or Addison on Beltline south of midway. They handle large parties better than any place we’ve been to in DFW and the food comes out hot and with better presentation! http://www.mannysuptown.com
