I agree that her rant was awful given how classy Carla has been and Casey could have made her point with less venom. That probably still would have pissed off “Team Carla”, but it would have made her look like less of a jerk.

No one can take advantage of you without your permission. If that’s the kind of email you send an “acquaintance” (someone you barely know), then you shouldn’t be too surprised at the outcome. Such comments are better kept to one’s circle of close friends or, better yet, said left unsaid. The only person to blame for the controversy over your tactless comments is yourself. Rather than trying to blame everyone else, a short apology would stop it.

Just after the airing, an acquaintance contacted me on facebook and, it turns out, was seeking to create some controversy. She did not represent herself as a reporter and did not ask for a quote. Instead, she took advantage of me.

I’m a fan of Carla’s and as disappointed as her fans are that she came up short. I’m more disappointed that my great experience with a fellow female chef of Carla’s talent would be damaged by such reckless and unprofessional reporting.

I feel hurt and compromised. The publication who is involved has always treated me well, but in this case– it should be embarrassed.

Casey

The ladies over at Shinsei can be glad that Casey went behind their back, privately catering to the restaurant’s clientele, so that they would have real reason to let go of her. Quite frankly, I’m surprised we never heard a public backlash from Casey about Tracy and Lynae. Maybe she shared her eloquence on that subject with only her inner circle.

Why would Consilient want Casey at the grand opening of their LA restaurant? (Listed on Casey’s worship-me website as a recent appearance.) Surely they can score a better “FAMOUS PERSON” than that.

Bullsh*t. It’s when you let HUBRIS take over that you get backlash. Can’t wait to see Casey’s “apology” and how she deflects the blame this time.

All you’re doing is making it look worse for her by not owning up to her horrible behavior and trying to cover for her. It ain’t working. Give it up.

Some of the comments here are downright silly.

She had a bad finale. Short of that she had a spectacular season. Come on. Is this about her ability to cook or what she said, because, as I just told Becky, I’ll concede the point that she should not have said what she did. But if you seriously are going to compare the career resumes (and frankly the consistency of their TC performances) of Carla and Casey, we are going to have a serious disagreement here.

Look…sometimes when the world turns on you and you feel like you are in a corner, you lash out. I’ve been there. She was getting inundated with emails. Her place in SF was getting phone calls. Many were downright nasty.

She knows she went way over the line. She knows she made it personal when it never should have been. She feels horribly about that. And expect an apology to make its way public as soon as today.

Bottom line…I think there is legitimacy in her complaints about the editing and the producers…but I will concede, she attacked Carla personally when she probably didnt need to…and while I guess its ok to attack a Stefan type who no one likes, when you attack a fan favorite there will be backlash…

If this show happens again, they need to rethink this terrible approach to the sous chefs. Bring back the pro chefs like they did before, at least they know the proper pecking order in the kitchen.

Shame on you, Casey. Can’t wait to hear your next excuse. PMS maybe? Or the sun was in your eyes?

The sort of reply that she sent just reflects badly on her, and unfortunately the fact that she can cook just doesn’t make it look any better. I’m disappointed that she sent it and allowed it to be published! Any and all comments that she gets as a result are merited. If one can dish it out, one has to be able to take it.

It was clear that you made Carla freak out with your second-guessing of her approach. Did you even see the last episode where she shucked oysters for most of the time? And then went on to make the WINNING dishes of all? Just because she doesn’t run around like a mispronounced coq with her head cut off doesn’t mean she didn’t have her act together. She works by distilling an idea and focusing on it, not like you worked, which was by freaking out and choking. Whether you want to believe it or not, YOU caused her to fail, mostly by throwing her off her game. And now you should be ashamed of yourself for not owning up to it. You are even more despicable than Ilan, if that’s to be believed. You best disappear for a while and lick your self-inflicted wounds.

Perhaps if her argument wasn’t that her grandmother was French but rather that she named the chicken “with love” you’d give her a pass?

Simply put, she could cook Carla under the table in a head to head challenge. It would not be close.

Possible Bravo spinoff? Hmmm…

Casey is a “celebrity”. Going on television and sending an email to be published on a public blog leaves her open to comments such as these.
Let her live with it. Unless she’s paying you to reply to each commenter here, I don’t see how you benefit.

P.S. whether or not she won the “coq” au vin challenge is irrelevant. It still doesn’t make a chicken into a cockerel.
