Bailey’s 1st & 10 to Reopen as Lakewood’s 1st & 10

I just got a note from a friend who says he and a few other SMU grads are reopening Bailey’s 1st & 10 at Mockingbird and Abrams. Seems the place closed down last November and the guys have signed a new lease, hired the old cook back, installed a few flat screens, and applied for a TABC license. Obviously they won’t open until they get this license, so opening date is still to come. But he assures me the place will be basically the same, just updated. And it will now be called Lakewood’s 1st & 10. When I hear the opening date I’ll pass it along.

  12. One of the new owners has a lawyer wife that is making sure every i is dotted and every t crossed, so it won’t open until all the paperwork is perfect.
    I’m ready for a great hamburger, again.

  14. This may be the biggest and best bar/restaurant news of 2009. I randomly was in a box with one of the new owners last night at the Mavs game and he said there will complete cleaning, there will be no smoking (which will be an ordinance anyway), the cook is back, and the only aesthetic things to change will be hotter waitresses and new LCDs everywhere. Combine that with management who actually cares about the customer and this place will be awesome.

  19. This place sucks already!! New owner made big mistake bringing back old wait staff!!!! They don’t give a damn. Last 3 times I’ve been in, none of the tables were clean, to put it mildy they were disqusting. I won’t be back!! Bummed because it has the best burger. Just expect dirty tables and 10-15min wait before some one takes your drink order!!
