A well-connected Disher sends word of a new American bistro estaurant across from the Quadrangle. You know the space. First it was Tin Star. Then it was Mooyah. Now it’s Bella. She sends a pic and the following info:
Here’s Bella’s menu & a pic of the shredded beef stogies (displayed like cigars in an ashray!).- Anthony Porcaro & Robert ”Peach” Petrie opened the placed named after Peach’s new daughter, Bella.
just what we needed another Italian American restaurant. good luck!
Went to Bella last night.
Excellent food, beautiful space, and overall wonderful experience — I will be back often!!
Bella is fabulous. Tony and Peach are the nicest men ever. They have made the space warm and inviting…great space for a party. The food is really yummy, a burger that puts the Loon to shame!!
i’m skeptical of any dallas menu that has an offering with the moniker of ‘grinder.’
smacks of the damn yankees back east, no?
at any rate, i’ll have to try it soon as the space has proven to be laden with doom and gloom.
Just wanted to express more praise for Bella. The food, service, and atmosphere are fantastic. Stop by, you will be impressed.
I would NOT call it an Italian bistro. Yes, there are a few Italian inspired dishes on the menu but the majority of the cuisine is international with something for everybody. try the short ribs!!
Well, I thought I deleted “Italian” from that description. Somehow, the word is back again. You’re right Christo, it’s an “American Bistro.” I’ll work with my computer to see if I can’t delete the word once and for all.
We went on Friday night. Went about nine were able to walk in and get a table…. The last one but still!
Service was lovely and it was so great to see Peach and Tony back in action.
I had the short rib “grinder”, it was just delightful!! Flavors were perfect together and the meat was soooo tender.
B-Friend had the burger, loved it too.
I would go back and plan to again soon.
My only request?? Offer regular fries, as an option, along with the parmesan fries. I don’t care for the cheese dusted fries.
Patio looks fun even though we did not make it back there.
We went to Bella last night. OVerall, really good experience. The restaurant feels pretty crowded/lively – definitely not the place for an intimate dinner, but that’s not a big deal.
We had the empanadas (okay – filling was tasty, but I wasn’t crazy about the dough), shrimp caprese (HUGE – and great. This is a really nice dish and could easily be a meal instead of an appetizer), short rib grinder (AWESOME. the meat was really tender. Only complaint was the potato chips felt like lays potato chips – not homemade) and then the Seafood Trio with risotto/thai curry sauce (This dish was our least favorite. Slightly underwhelming and the risotto was more like a stir-fried rice with peas. The Thai Curry sauce was great though).
Overall, I recommend Bella. I’m glad to have a new restaurant that’s not a chain in that space.
